I'm Not Changing

This series of illustrative works I've made is called Little Pink Lies, showing innocuous and sometimes surreal situations I've experienced. The works are rife with irreverent innuendo that I say to make the other person I’m talking to, more comfortable with their line of questioning or conversation. These are the little things I (we) say and tell ourselves and others to hide what’s really going on. Think white lies but a bit more outrageous and dripping with sarcastic undertones that may or may not be taken as a defense mechanism.

Through clever innuendos I am sharing some of uncomfortable circumstances i've been in through the carefully constructed through washed shades of pink (or blush and flush), tints of grey lead and graphite, fields of negative space, and hand sewn embroidery with black floss.

While the narrative is full of nuance, it is my own. Are you able to relate to it? There is no correct answer, but I do invite you to take part discussing the situation. To be brash, to be seen, to feel safe and, most importantly, poke fun at all the absurdities around us
